17/03/2021. The XXI contest The Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia has started

The XXI contest and the exhibition The Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia has started.
The contest is held among the book publishers and typographers of the republic. 68 books will compete for the title "The Best Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia".
The contest is attended by book products published on the territory of the Republic of Karelia and received by the Book Chamber as a legal deposit from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
In 2021, due to the ban on holding mass events an exhibition The Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia is held in a virtual format. A total of 360 editions are presented at the exhibition. This is various literature - local history, educational, business literature, works by Karelian authors, books for children and literature in national languages.
During the exhibition, editions of the year 2020 will be evaluated by experts, and everyone will be able to vote for the book they like on the site of the library.

The book that will receive the largest number of awards in different categories will be awarded title the Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia 2020. The organizing committee of the competition includes representatives of ministries, departments, public organizations, publishing houses and libraries.
Summing up the results of the XXI contest and awarding ceremony will traditionally take place on the World Book and Copyright Day on April 23 at the National Library of the Republic of Karelia.
