05/03/2021. KniiguMelliččä-2021. New books of the Periodika Publishing House
The National Library held a presentation of new books of the Periodika Publishing House – KniiguMelliččä (Eng. Book Mill).
Elena Migunova, the Head of the Department of State Support for Indigenous Peoples of the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia, made a welcoming speech. In 2020, the Periodika Publishing House has published 15 books using financial support of the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of Karelia. A total of 26 books have been published; among them there are reference and scientific publications, books for children, fiction literature, memoirs, books about Karelia and its inhabitants, a guidebook and comics.
To the 100th anniversary of the People’s Writer Ortjo Stepanov, the Periodika Publishing House has published the novel of the classics of Karelian literature Widow's Love. Mikhail Stepanov, writer’s son and the Head of the Ortjo Stepanov Foundation, told about the new edition.
Authors participated in the meeting told about their work on the books. The performances of the Youth Studio of the Kantele ensemble, the Inkeri Choir from Petrozavodsk and Andrey Gorshkov, actor of the National Theater of the Republic of Karelia, brightened the meeting.
