Autumn 2021:
In the Republic of Karelia, there will appear two more model libraries within the framework of the national project “Culture”. One of them will be established on the basis of the Kotkozero Village Library (the Olonets Centralized Library System), and another on the basis of the Värtsilä City Library (the Sortavala District Library).
The presentations of these libraries were made at a skype meeting on January 28, 2021, which took place with Anastasia Polyakova, the curator of the project for the creation of model municipal libraries in the Republic of Karelia, the chief specialist of the Department for Work with Regions of the Department of Model Libraries of the Russian State Library
Among the participants to the meeting there were representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia (regional project office), heads and specialists of the Olonets centralized library system, the Sortavala District Library and the Värtsilä City Library (total - 12 people).
Yuliya Kondratyeva, the Head of the Sector for Methodical Work of the Olonets National Library, told about the historical Kotkozero village and future modernization of the Kotkozero Village Library. The presentation about modernization of the Värtsilä City Library was made by a specialist of the library Nadezhda Olamenkova and the Head of the Sortavala District Library Tatyana Antonova.
The participants in the meeting discussed working issues on the preparation of weekly reports on the implementation of the project from February 2021 and monthly news stories that model libraries prepare to promote their libraries and resources.
Gulnara Mekhralieva, the press secretary of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, drew the attention of the staff of model libraries to the general requirements for information about upcoming and past events posted by libraries on the website новаябиблиотека.рф.
