The National Library of Karelia held the evening My Hand in Your Hand dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Mari El.
In 2020, the republics will celebrate one hundred years of official formation. There is close cooperation between Karelia and Mari El in the field of culture and interethnic relations. The Republic of Mari El has a rich history and distinctive culture, amazingly beautiful nature, with many rivers and lakes located in very picturesque forests.
That evening, the guests of the National Library of Karelia had an opportunity to join the traditions and customs of the Mari, listen to songs and enjoy the enchanting sound of Mari musical instruments.
Mikhail Assessorov, the Head of the Public Organization The Mari of Karelia, told the audience about the folk epos Yugorno, the poetic encyclopedia of spiritual life and historical fate of the Mari people. This day, Mikhail Assessorov celebrated his anniversary. He accomplished 60 years. Friends and colleagues wished the hero of the day creative success in his work, implementation of new projects and ideas for the benefit of the Mari culture on Karelian land.
Ahead is 2020. It will be the year of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Mari El. The anniversary year will certainly give a new impetus to the development of cooperation and good neighborhood between Karelia and Mari El.
