In 2019, the theme was Traditional Culture as a Basis for Modern Trends and it involved the initiation of joint projects between Russian and Finnish museums, cultural centers, libraries, educational institutions and other institutions.
The Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia Alla Manilova noted that for the first time, the Russian-Finnish Cultural Forum went beyond the boundaries of the North-West Federal District and went to the center of Russia. Manilova said that this large-scale event was included in the agenda of the heads of both states. It was announced at a recent meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö.
In this sense, the forum is a unique phenomenon, because two states at the highest level support the idea of interpenetration of cultures and the interaction of people making possible the creation of many interesting joint projects, including those related to the protection and preservation of our cultural heritage.
