11/12/2018. To the 30th anniversary of the club Kraeved (Local historian)

The meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the club Kraeved (Local historian) was held. Members of the club and partners gathered together in the library: representatives of the Karelian Research Center, Petrozavodsk State University, the National Archive, museums and representatives of public organizations.
Historian Vasily Kondratyev made a report on the work of the club, the forms of its work and the topics of the meetings. Nina Novikova, the former head of the Department of National and Local History Literature of the library, who led the club in 2003-2014, shared knowledge about the first years of the club.
The studies of the club members were published in the collections Local historian of Karelia (1990), Local historian. 10 years (1999) and Local historian (2007). Historian Valery Verkhoglyadov shared memories about creation of the first collection.
Public speaking is the main activity of the club. Participants of the anniversary meeting kept the tradition and heard short speeches made by local historians: Nikolay Kutkov Family of Galdobins in the History of Petrozavodsk and Galina Kudryavtseva Four Seasons. Petrozavodsk in Poetry. Local historian Tatyana Moshina presented her new book My Dear Homeland: Notes about the Inhabitants of Zaonezhye. The book can be purchased at the kiosk of the National Library.
The Head of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia Marina Nikishina handed letters of thanks to the members of the club: N. Novikova, V. Kondratyev, V. Verkhoglyadov, A. Rogozhina, T. Moshina. The Head of the National Archive Olga Zharinova and well-known local historians Y. Shleikin and E. Itsikson congratulated the audience.
