August 8 – September 8, 2016:
A personal exhibition of a famous Karelian painter Vitaly Nakonechnyi is presented in the exhibition hall of the National Library of Karelia.
The exhibition presents the career of the artist from drawings of childhood and youth periods, first book illustrations to computer graphics. Vitaly has loved to draw since childhood and dreamed of becoming an animal painter. The first book illustrated by Vitaly Nakonechnyi was published when he was at army. After that he studied at Lvov Ivan Fyodorov Polygraphic Institute, and shortly before graduation in 1972 Vitaly has gone to wander through the North of Russia and decided to stay here.
Works by Vitaly Nakonechnyi is known to Karelian, Russian and foreign book readers. Magazines Carelia and Sever designed by Vitaly have been read in many countries. Vitaly thinks, that book designer should be a coauthor of a book; he must understand the idea and empower it with his own life energy. When flipping through books designed by him it becomes clear, that a book has a Soul. He is an artist who doesn't permit any careless work even in the details, because every his book is a personality, a meaningful work of art.
Vitaly Nakonechnyi is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Designers of Russia, Honoured Art Worker of the Republic of Karelia, a laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Karelia, a multiple winner of All-Union and All-Russia Book Contests, the chief artist of the Severnoye Siyaniye Publishing House.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on the 12th of August
in the exhibition hall of the National Library
