14/04/2025. Welcome to a new section of the website – Memory of the Great Victory
The section includes unique full text collections of war time documents – war time newspapers, books by Karelian authors about heroes of the Karelian front, information about events, programs and campaigns held on the premises of the National Library of Karelia and dedicated to the memory of the Great Victory.
Victory Day is a holiday of great importance for all citizens of our Motherland. Every year there are fewer and fewer people who saw and remember the events of those years, but we must never forget the feats that our grandfathers and great-grandfathers accomplished for the sake of freedom, honour and peace on Earth. The Great Patriotic War will always be a significant topic in art, literature and in the hearts of people. Karelia, which survived military actions and occupation, experienced all the bitterness, pain and destructive power of war.
