14/11/2024. Video conference with the Chuvash Republican Children's and Youth Library

The National Library of Karelia held a video conference with the Chuvash Republican Children's and Youth Library.
The event was held as part of the series "Cultural Traditions of Peoples - Wealth of the Country". Students of the 4th grades of Gymnasium No. 30 of Petrozavodsk took part in the interregional online event.
The children took a virtual trip to the Chuvash Republic, heard a story about Chuvash embroidery as a regional brand and the national clothing of the Chuvash people, met the People's Poet of Chuvashia Raisa Sarbi and heard a song and poems in the Chuvash language.
In turn, schoolchildren in Cheboksary got acquainted with the culture and traditions of Karelia. At the event, an excerpt from the runes of Kalevala was performed in Karelian and Russian by an employee of the National Library Svetlana Kharina. The kantelist ensemble of Helmer Sinisalo Children's Music School No. 1 graced the meeting with its performance. At the end, all participants of the video conference guessed difficult Karelian riddles and asked each other questions.
Besides, the National Library of Karelia presented an exhibition of unique tactile books on local history from its collection.
