The National Library of the Republic of Karelia took part in the urban action Open Streets in the framework of the European Mobility Week. The library bookstall of the National Library which is the first library bookstall in the republic was open, and there everyone could buy publications by Karelian authors and books published on the territory of the Republic of Karelia. During the whole day the Free Library on wheels was open for the residents of the city. About one and half thousand books have gained new readers.
Lovers of cycling could participate in an interesting quiz and get acquainted with the book exhibition VeloWORD, learn about the history of the bicycle, about famous athletes, bicycle museums and repair and improvement of bicycles. For younger guests there were a children's playground with various games and master classes by the Petrozavodsk V.F. Morozov Children's Library. Events were visited by about three hundred people.
