In Petrozavodsk, the campaign "Give a New Book to Rural Libraries" initiated by the Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov has concluded
In a month, since September 14 till October 12, the National Library of Karelia accepted books donated by institutions and private individuals, for subsequent transfer to the republic’s rural libraries.
During the campaign, the library collected more than 300 book copies, including children’s literature, works of Russian classical literature, contemporary prose, science fiction, popular novels, and detective stories.
We thank all generous and caring people for the active participation: students and teachers of the Derzhavinsky Lyceum, Lyceums No. 13, No. 40, individuals who wished to remain anonymous donors, employees of the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Karelia and the National Library of Karelia.
The collected books will be sent to the municipal district of Karelia (Prionezhsky, Pudozhsky, Medvezyegosky, Lahdenpokhsky), where adult and young readers are eagerly waiting for them.
The “chain” of good deeds begins with you!
