30/10/2023. The VI reading competition “Sungurov’s Days” at the National Library of Karelia

As part of the work of the base platform “Literature of Karelia for Schoolchildren”, the VI reading competition “Sungurov’s Days: Expanding Horizons” was held at the National Library. The event was organized by the city Centre for Educational Development and Petrozavodsk Secondary School No. 38.
The purpose of the event was to popularize and attract students' attention to the works by Karelian poets and writers. The objectives of the competition were not only to get acquainted with the works of the authors, but also to develop the skills of artistic expressive performance, to identify and develop the creative abilities of students.
The VI reading competition “Sungurov’s Days” was attended by 64 students of 4th-11th form from 21 secondary schools pf Petrozavodsk and the Secondary School of Shoksha. The theme of the competition was a line from Oleg Moshnikov’s poem “Land of Love – Karelia”. The participants read works by E. Pietilyainen, O. Moshnikov, Y. Linnik, P. Sysoev, I. Kostin, A. Volkov and others.
The performances of the participants were evaluated by Karelian poets and writers: Elena Pietilyainen, Pavel Sysoev, Oleg Moshnikov, Dmitry Kosmina. The jury also included teachers from educational organizations, representatives of the Centre for Educational Development and the National Library of the Republic of Karelia.
As a result of the event, 6 participants became winners and 15 – laureates. We congratulate the winners and laureates of the competition and wish them new creative achievements!
