26/09/2016. The Kalakunda Festival
The National Library of Karelia took part in the International Fish Festival Kalakunda. One of the main autumn events of Karelia gathered together cultural institutions, trout breeders and people fond of fishing and having a good time. This year, the Fish Festival Kalakunda was a part of the International Conference The Cultural Drivers of Development of the Modern Cities.
The Kalakunda Festival was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia, the Centre of National Cultures and Folk Arts of the Republic of Karelia and the Petrozavodsk City Administration.
The site of the National Library was crowded during the whole event. Children played a game Karelian Fishing with pleasure. Older children and adults answered questions of the quiz The Planet of Fish and, of course, everyone was interested in the book exhibition presented at the mobile library.
