19/09/2015. The Golden Polish Autumn in Karelia
The National Library of the Republic of Karelia has held the festival The Golden Polish Autumn in Karelia organized jointly with the Polish Institute in St. Petersburg. On the 18th of September an exhibition Witkacy. Photographs dedicated to works by Stanisław Witkiewicz was opened in the library, then the associate professor of the St. Petersburg Theatre Academy Polina Stepanova gave a lecture on the art by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, which has caused a warm response of the audience, and late in the evening there was the one-man show "Mother" performed by Jolanta Juszkiewicz (Kropka Theatre) on the play by S. Witkiewicz in Polish with subtitles. For many people works by Witkiewicz and the Polish manner of performance of his works became a real discovery.
On the 19th of September the Polish Institute in St. Petersburg showed three short films by Wajdo Studio. After that a discussion on the films took place.
