On the 19th of April 2013 the Biblionight was held in Petrozavodsk. This event was held for the second year in a row.
The night was full of events. The guests of the National library saw a music stave, which was flowing down the library main staircase. It was filled with voluminous notes and live music performed by students of the Musical college named after K. Rautio.
In the library there was an exhibition Russian Avant-Garde. The exhibition was composed of video installations, books and posters by famous Russian artists of the beginning of the last century: A. Rodtchenko, K. Malevich, V. Mayakovski, A. Naumov and M. Dlugach.
Visitors saw art objects by Julia Shumilova and Alexandra Sukhanova. Advertising columns are an important part of the urban environment. It is a kind of lighthouse which leads people to different events and news. The purpose of these art objects was to indicate the right direction.
At the beginning of the evening guests of the National Library saw and heard project The Living Word by the honored artist of the Republic of Karelia Valery Baulin. Valery Baulin has performed the story Kolesa (Wheels) written by Zakhar Prilepin.
The ensemble of brass instruments Karelia Brass played jazz compositions. And near midnight the ensemble of medieval European music Drolls played a composition Carmina Burana.
Admirers of English detectives plunged into the atmosphere of the Old World in a cozy café At Mrs. Hudson's. Guests should uncover all mysteries with help of kind and insightful Mrs. Hudson. Video installations, 3d-movies and even the secret of a keyhole made our guests feel like characters of stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle.
