27/08/2015. The August Pedagogical Conference
The National Library of the Republic of Karelia received participants of the annual August Public and Pedagogical Conference. One of the sections "The Year of Literature: regional specificity of the educational process" was held in the library. This traditional event of the regional education system was carried out in the framework of the Action Plan on implementation of the State Program of the Republic of Karelia "Development of Education in the Republic of Karelia" for 2014-2020.
The conference participants discussed the issues of cooperation between educational and cultural institutions. The presentations were made by writers, teachers, librarians and heads of teaching unions of Petrozavodsk. During the August Pedagogical Conference the first library bookstall was opened in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia. Participants of the conference bought books by Karelian authors and materials published in the Republic of Karelia.
