12/11/2024. The Annual Meeting of Heads of Federal and Central Regional Libraries of Russia
November 12 and 13, 2024:
The Annual Meeting of Heads of Federal and Central Regional Libraries of Russia is taking place in Saint Petersburg.
Marina Nikishina, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, is participating in the meeting.
The main theme of the 2024 Meeting is “Libraries and National Development Goals”, with particular attention to the following issues:
- implementation of the "Strategy for the Development of Library Field in the Russian Federation until 2030";
- implementation of the Culture National Project: model libraries and book monuments;
- library as a centre for historical education;
- patriotic library projects;
- human resources policy for the library industry;
- formation of a system of research and methodical work;
- acquisition of library collections;
- integration of libraries of new regions into the cultural environment of Russia.
The Conference will include:
- a plenary session, round tables;
- an award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian competition "Librarian of the Year - 2024", the All-Russian competition "Library Analytics - 2024", the V All-Russian competition "Libraries. PROdvizheniye";
- an exhibition "Library Context - 2024" for publishers, bookselling organizations, aggregators of information products and services, firms, manufacturers of goods and services for libraries.
