01/05/2026. Summing up the results of the educational marathon Watch, Read: Soyuzmultfilm!
The educational marathon Watch, Read: Soyuzmultfilm! dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the studio has ended.
The marathon's goal was to foster a sense of connection to Russian culture in the younger generation through cartoons, develop their reading interest, and introduce them to intellectual leisure. The methodical kit included five quizzes for participants of various ages and a design for a themed display stand. Any specialist who registered as a coordinator on our website was eligible to receive the methodical kit.
The marathon Watch, Read: Soyuzmultfilm! became the largest of the National Library of Karelia; it was attended by 1580 coordinators and more than 50 thousands participants from eight federal districts. 287 cities and more than 800 rural settlements answered the questions of the quizzes created at the National Library of Karelia.
The animated creations of the Soyuzmultfilm studio are closely connected with literature and books. Fairy-tales by Pushkin, Uspensky, Tsyferov, Nosov, Marshak have become the classics of animation. Many outstanding writers have collaborated with the studio and created wonderful screenplays for cartoons. Children’s writer Vladimir Suteev was one of the first animators in our country. A separate quiz dedicated to his work was especially popular among pre-schoolers. Kaliningrad kindergartens were the most active participants, with twenty-seven of them registering for the marathon, all of whom were collaborating with the library for the first time.
Traditionally, elementary school students are the most eager to attend library events. The quiz for them was designed so that even those who hadn't seen the cartoons could answer some questions, but the highest scores went to those who had both watched the cartoons and read the books! Teenagers are a harder reader category than others to attract to the library. The marathon's methodical kit included a quiz designed to engage fifth- to seventh-grade students.
The Watch, Read: Soyuzmultfilm! marathon has concluded, but the quizzes remain with the coordinators and will be of great use again. The National Library of the Republic of Karelia unites regions around intellectual leisure, children and adults around libraries, and compatriots around Russia's cultural heritage, and wishes everyone new reading discoveries!
