06/06/2025. Pushkin Day of Russia and Russian Language Day - a celebration of poetry in the National Library of Karelia
On June 6, the National Library of Karelia hosted the final event of the week dedicated to the celebration of A. S. Pushkin's birthday. On Pushkin Day of Russia and the Day of the Russian Language all admirers of the great poet's creative work came to the monument to take part in the city action “Flowers to the Poet”.
This day gathered admirers of the poet's work - people of different ages - children and adults, students and schoolchildren. All together we remembered Pushkin's favorite words. Pupils and teachers of school No. 10 of Petrozavodsk prepared for this holiday a literary and musical composition based on poems and romances of Alexander Sergeyevich. Older pupils of secondary school No. 9 took part in this ceremony for the first time, as well as students of the Karelian College of Culture and Arts named after Hero of the Soviet Union A. Lisitsyna.
The children noticed that Pushkin's words have magical properties. They give comfort or hope, light sadness or warm smile to those who touch them. Such smiles were given to all the guests by the pupils of the School of Artistic Speech of Lidia Pobedinskaya in their performance, which they called “Merry Pushkin”. After the laying of flowers at the monument to the great poet, traditionally at the end of the event there was a free microphone for everyone.
Pushkin week was remembered by all admirers of the great poet's talent with bright emotions and new literary discoveries. The educational program “Pushkin on the theatrical stage of Petrozavodsk” was presented on June 4 by the specialists of the Department of National and Local Lore Literature and Bibliography within the framework of “Local Lore Wednesday”. On June 5 two programs dedicated to Pushkin's works were held in the National Library of Karelia. Our young readers attended the creative program “In the Book Kingdom, in Pushkin's State”. On “Literary Thursday” together with older readers we studied "Books in a book. What books in the hands of the heroes of the novel “Eugene Onegin” by Alexander Pushkin can tell about". On June 6, students of the summer camp of secondary school №55 took part in the literary game “PushkinQuiz”.
