11/10/2022. Presentation of the book Living North
October 11, 2022:
The National Library of Karelia held a presentation of the book Living North (Rus. Zhivoi sever), which contains the best works about the Russian North, sent to the international Petroglyph Writing Contest from 2013 to 2019.
Vladimir Sofienko, Karelian writer, author of the idea, founder and organizer of the Petroglyph International Literary Festival, presented the book. During the presentation, Vladimir Sofienko told about his path towards literary art. After that, he spoke about the work of the Petroglyph International Literary Festival. Every year, literary festival gathers all people interested in Karelia not only from Russia, but from all over the world.
The result of participating in the festival become novels and stories impressed by visiting Karelia. The book Living North contains best stories written by festival participants in 2013-2019. At the meeting, the winners Oleg Kozhin and Sergei Pupyshev spoke. The authors told their impressions about participating in the festival and work on their books. The participants in the event watched films about Karelia, made by the Petroglyph Festival team.
