22/07/2015. Presentation of the almanac Taival

The presentation of the almanac Taival in Karelian language was held in the National Library of Karelia. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, national communities, professionals of the publishing house Periodika and authors of the almanac.
At the beginning of the presentation the Head of the National Library of Karelia Marina Nikishina gave presents to the 3000th library patron who received the library card this year. The Deputy Minister of the National Policy Elizaveta Kharitonova congratulated the participants on the release of the fifth Taival almanac. In her speech she said that it was doubted whether the publication would find writers and readers. But now it’s clear, that there is a plenty of authors of the almanac. After that the author of the almanac Natalia Chikina, Zinaida Dubinina, Eino Timonen gave their speeches. A literary scholar and a researcher of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences Natalia Chikina told about revival of the interest toward national authors at the beginning of the 21st century.
The presentation was held in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. These events have been traditionally held by The Ministry of the National Policy in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia.
