20/07/2026. Presentation of books by Alexey Murashkin
July 19, 2026:
The National Library of Karelia held a presentation of books by Alexey Murashkin – Grandfather’s Fairy-Tales (”Dedushkiny Skazki”) and Andryuska’s Dreams (“Andryuskiny Mechty”).
Alexandra Murashkina, author’s daughter, hosted the presentation. Her warm story about her father and stories about books’ creations set the warm tone for the meeting – the hall was filled with the family atmosphere, where everyone felt being at home.
The author’s friends and parents with their children gathered at the hall – and it was precisely this combination of audience that made the evening especially lively. Children listened with interest to excerpts from fairy-tales, adults smiled at the recognizable everyday details and the author’s subtle humour.
Alexey Murashkin had worked for several years as a staff correspondent for the Severnyi Kurier newspaper, and had published in republican and local newspapers in Karelia, the literary and philosophical journal Topos, and the online magazine for children and parents, Zelenyi Kuznechik.
During the meeting, the guests familiarized themselves with the books, learned about the key stages of Alexey Murashkin's creative path, and the history of these publications. Excerpts from the works were read and then discussed in an interactive, playful format – the children actively participated in the conversation, sharing their thoughts, and the adults eagerly engaged in the dialogue.
Alexandra Murashkina gave the publications to the National Library of Karelia. A. Murashkin's books, Grandfather’s Fairy-Tales and Andryuska’s Dreams, will be available for reading soon.
