30/11/2024. Names in the History of Karelia. Zinaida Dubinina
The name of the famous Karelian poet, translator of the Karelian and Finnish Kalevala epic poem into the Livvi-Karelian, and teacher Zinaida Dubinina (1934 - 2022) has been added to the electronic resource of the National Library of Karelia Names in the History of Karelia.
Zinaida Dubinina was a native of the village of Lumbozero in the Olonetsky District. She taught Karelian and Finnish in schools in the villages of Utozero and Kotkozero in the Olonetsky District for many years and was awarded the title of the Honoured Worker of Education of the Republic of Karelia. Zinaida Dubinina’s great work in translating the Children's Bible, New Testament, and Psalter into the Livvi-Karelian was awarded the Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga, 3rd degree, of the Russian Orthodox Church.
In 2021, Kotkozero model library of Olonetsky District was named after the honorary citizen of the city of Olonets and Kotkozero rural settlement Zinaida Dubinina.
