22/10/2026. Meeting with a Karelian writer Anna Tilles
October 21, 2026:
The National Library of Karelia held a meeting with a Karelian writer Anna Tilles. The meeting was attended by students of the 4th grade of the Petrovskaya School.
The author told to the children about her works and the history of the book Aunt Lappi’s Fairy-Tales (”Skazki tyotushki Lappi”) – a fairy-tale collection, which introduces young readers to the distinctive history, nature, and mythology of Karelia. Anna Tilles drew the listeners' special attention to the fairy-tale The Hare's Boots (”Zayachi kengi”). The children learned what had inspired the author when she had been creating the work, and they were also introduced to the fairy tale’s main characters, i.e. the Old Lukutar and the Haltija spirit.
After that, schoolchildren took part in the Truth or Lie game with great pleasure, and at the end of the meeting, they asked the Karelian author questions that interested them. The authors of the most compelling questions received commemorative souvenirs from Anna Tilles and the National Library.
Anna Tilles’s books from the collection of the National Library could be ordered by link.
