08/12/2016. Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference
The 5th of December 1991 is a significant day for the library. 25 years ago the State Public Library of the Karelian ASSR was endowed with the status of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia by Special Resolution #327 of the Council of Ministers of the Karelian ASSR.
The last plenary session included reports:
- The National Library of the Republic of Karelia: 25 years with the Status of the National Library (Valentina Lapichkova, Scientific Secretary of the National Library of Karelia, Executive Director of the Library Association of the Republic of Karelia)
- National Libraries of CIS in the context of past, present and future (Natalia Igumnova, Chief Researcher of the Department for Interlibrary Cooperation with Libraries of Russia and CIS countries, the Russian State Library)
- The Library Association of the Republic of Karelia: time to cooperate and move forward (Georgy Chernobrovkin, the President of the Library Association of the Republic of Karelia, the Head of the Olonets Central Library System)
On the 6th of December the annual meeting of heads of municipal and state libraries of the Republic of Karelia on the theme “Actual Problems of the Library Work of the Republic of Karelia” was held in the framework of the Conference.
