10/02/2026. Cooperation with the National Library of Belarus
Since 2024, the National Library of Karelia has cooperated with the National Library of Belarus in order to exchange books and mutually benefit library collections. The parties regularly exchange bibliographic information about documents from the libraries' exchange collections. The books exchanged are diverse in subject matter and can satisfy a wide range of reader interests. These include books on the history of Belarus and Karelia, books about the Great Patriotic War, art books, scholarly monographs, and fiction.
Among books received by the National Library of Karelia, readers may be interested in books and albums about the Brest Fortress, about political commissars of the Great Patriotic War, about sisters of mercy, as well as books on wax painting and human genetics.
In response, the National Library of Karelia is preparing books on wooden architecture in the Russian North, the history of Karelian folklore, and a photo album about the Pomors for delivery to the National Library of Belarus.
