The National Library of Karelia hosted a conference Karelia: History and Modernity dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia. An online broadcast was organized for the conference listeners on the website of the National Library.
The topics considered: the history of Karelia, the works by writers and poets of the republic, the preservation and development of traditional culture and architecture, anniversaries of the Orthodox monasteries of our northern region.

The conference was organized by the Directorate of Festival and Cultural Events of the Republic of Karelia and the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia in cooperation with Petrozavodsk State University, Petrozavodsk and Karelian Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
