21/05/2024. All-Russian Library Congress: XXVIII Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association

In Kazan, the library capital of Russia 2024, the All-Russian Library Congress was opened. Theme of the event is Library in a Multipolar World.
Annually, the Congress becomes the main and the biggest event in the library field.
From May 19 to 24, the Congress 2024 will be attended by more than 1550 professionals from all over Russia, and also special guests from foreign countries (Belarus, India, Iran, China, Cuba, Serbia) and participants in the Educational Collaboration of Commonwealth Libraries – 50 young library specialists from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Marina Nikishina, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, takes part in the opening ceremony and the work of the Congress. As part of the conference, the following specialists will take part in the work of the sections in a remote format: Irina Germanova, Deputy Director of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia (presentation at the section on the history of libraries), Valentina Lapichkova, Scientific Secretary of the National Library of Karelia, Executive Director of the Library Association of the Republic of Karelia (section on the library society and associations), Elena Voznesenskaya, Chief Bibliographer of the Sector of Rare Books and Book Monuments (special round table), Elena Saikonen, Chief Librarian of the Department of National and Local Literature and Bibliography (section on local history).
