01/10/2026. A new educational marathon Let’s Read together has started at the library
October 1, 2026:
The National Library started a new educational marathon Let’s Read together.
Educational marathons have become a successful tradition at the National Library of Karelia. The first marathon took place in 2022; in 2024, Karelia got a special diploma of the contest The Most Reading Region for The Family Pages marathon; and in 2025, the project won The Best Library Practices contest of The Family Values and Culture Infrastructure federal project (the Family national project).
The mechanism for conducting these marathons is always the same: the library uses its own collection to create a material kit that any interested professional, i.e. librarian, teacher, or educator, can use. After registering on the website, the coordinator receives the material kit via email; it contains materials ready for use in the event, including quizzes, videos, and illustrations.
The new marathon – Let’s Read together – is dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
The aim of the project is fostering a sense of connection to our country’s history and culture through an appreciation of values shared by all the peoples of Russia: respect for elders, cherishing the family, mutual assistance, constructive labour for the good of the Fatherland, and love for both one’s local region and the country as a whole.
The material kit contains educational quizes and book exhibition materials. The marathon will take place from October 1 until November 30, 2026.
