A creative meeting with Natalia Laidinen was held in the National Library of Karelia.
Natalia Laidinen is a native of Petrozavodsk but has been living in Moscow for about 20 years. Her life is full of poetry, journalism, traveling and active participant in work of the Karelian fraternity in Moscow.
At the beginning of the meeting Natalia Laidinen said welcome words to her parents who were present at the library and teachers of Petrozavodsk gymnasium № 17. The poet read her poems from a cycle The Northern Runes which is dedicated to Karelia.
After that Natalia told about problems that are of her concern and themes that attract her most. These themes are inspiration, traveling, meetings with interesting people, emigration, Jewish historical roots, war and peace, love.
A poet Dmitri Svintsov who was the first poetry mentor of Natalia told about her development as a poet and noted the high level of her poetry. Dmitry Tsvibel, the Chairman of the Petrozavodsk Jewish community, spoke about cooperation with Natalia Laidinen and her publications in the international Jewish magazine "Aleph", interviews with outstanding citizens of Petrozavodsk. Evgeni Shorokhov thanked Natalia Laidinen for her participation in work of the military-patriotic center "Vympel" and patriotic education of the youth of Karelia.
At the meeting guests saw videos by an emigrated journalist and writer Grigory Ryskin who gave his opinion on poetry by Natalia Laidinen and a professor of the University of Pennsylvania Vera Zubareva who called her a devotee of the Russian poetry.
Guests have dived into the sea of poetry and music for two hours. After the meeting everyone could get an autograph of the poet.
