Ilya Polunitsyn is a Karelian children’s writer and poet. He has already written more than 10 books for children of primary and secondary school age. The main heroes of the fairy-tale story Adventures in the Squirrel Forest are squirrels, and the book tells about friendship and of course extraordinary adventures of baby squirrels.
Guests of the library were treated to a literary quiz, in which the children tested their knowledge about squirrels. Also, young readers enjoyed listening to Ilya Polunitsyn’s story about how the book was created, and even danced a real squirrel flash mob!
At the end, the guys had an opportunity to ask questions to the writer. The authors of the most interesting questions received the book The Forest Newspaper (Rus. Лесная газета) by Vitaly Bianki as a gift.
The young library guests went home in a good mood and with a desire to read all the books about the amazing adventures of the baby squirrels.
The books about adventures in the Squirrel Forest can be ordered through the electronic catalogue of the library using a link or bought at the Book Stall of the National Library of Karelia.
