The Head of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia Marina Nikishina took part in the Russian Library Congress: XXIII Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association, which was held on May, 12th – 18th in Vladimir, the Library Capital of Russia 2018.
The Congress, which the Russian Library Association holds annually in May, on the eve of the Russian Library Day, is the key and largest event of the year in the library sector. It is open to the representatives of all libraries, information institutions, universities and any other organizations and associations which are interacting with libraries regardless of membership in the Russian Library Association. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Administration of the Vladimir Oblast.
The key theme of the Congress 2018 was Based on the Past, Building the Future. The role of Cultural Inheritance in the Transformation of Russian Library Sector. At the opening of the congress, participants were welcomed by the Head of the Vladimir Oblast Svetlana Orlova.
