20/02/2017. XI Scientific Conference Local Studies Days started at the National Library of Karelia
February 16, 2017:
XI Scientific Conference Local Studies Days was opened. The theme of the conference is Names in the History of Karelia. The conference is organized by the National Library of Karelia and the Institute of Language, Literature and History of RAS. The participants of the conference were welcomed by the Head of the National Library of Karelia Marina Nikishina at the opening ceremony. She awarded long-term conference participants with letters of thanks.
At the first plenary session participants heard report Irina Andreevna Fedosova. The History of Life made by S. V. Vorobyova and a report by E. E. Itsikson under the name Dmitry Maslennikov, the Head of the Department for Architecture of the Karelo-Finnish SSR.
For more than ten years the Conference Local Studies Days has gathered together people who conduct research activities on the local history.
During two days the sections will take place:
- Statesman: forms of representation in the historical memory
- Word masters in Karelia
- Socio-cultural groups in Karelia: finishing touches to the history
- The world of language and folklore: researchers and researches
- Regional specialists and educators of Karelia in the history of the country and region
- Names in the culture of Karelia
- Simple Soviet man: persons and images in the context of everyday life
- Finns in the history of the Soviet Karelia: to the 100th anniversary of Russian revolution and independence of Finland.
The conference will conclude in a plenary session on the 17th of February.
