The National Library of Karelia opened an exhibition New Year and Christmas: from Century to Century. The exposition introduces the viewer to New Year and Christmas decorations and postcards of the past XX century and public schools and life of the teachers of the Olonets Governorate in the late XIX - early XX centuries.
The visitors may feel themselves to be schoolchildren of the last century and sit at the school desk. A beautiful decoration of the exhibition is ”a window in the winter” made of photos by Oleg Semenenko.
Subjects of the exposition – postcards and New Year toys – were provided by the professionals of the National Library.
A banner exhibition Public Schools and Life of the Teachers of the Olonets Governorate in the late XIX - early XX Centuries and photos by Oleg Semenenko were provided by the Kizhi museum.
Young participants of a holiday program prepared for the opening of the exhibition, plunged into the atmosphere of the New Year holidays of the past centuries. Specialists of the Kizhi museum conducted an interactive program for guests Christmas Tree at School in the late XIX - early XX Centuries. The specialists of the library held a master class for children My Angel, each participant made a Christmas decoration - a paper angel with his own hands.
