June 15, 2017:
An international seminar held on the premises of the National Library of Karelia was very relevant, because today interest in genealogy and return of family memory has been increased sharply not only in Russia, but also in the world.
On the 15th of June 2017, an international seminar "The 20th Century in the Fates of Karelian Families" was held in the conference hall of the National Library of Karelia. The seminar was prepared by the National Archive of the Republic of Karelia in collaboration with Finnish Sukuseurojen Keskusliitto Association.
Reports dedicated to the fate of specific families and genealogical research in general were made by scientists, archivists and genealogists from Petrozavodsk and Finland.
Genealogy cooperation is very important for residents of Karelia and Finland, because many of them have branches of genealogy on different sides of the border.
