The National Library of Karelia held a presentation of a documentary film Mannerheim. A View from Karelia filmed by TV Company Nika.
Film screening was a part of celebration of the 100th anniversary of independence of Finland. The film is dedicated to one of the most controversial personalities in the history of Russia and Finland Carl Gustav Mannerheim. The premiere of the film was attended by the creators of the film: an Honored Worker of Culture of Karelia, a popularizer of Karelian culture Andrey Mazurovsky and director Igor Yanin.
The hall could hardly accommodate all comers – students, schoolchildren and representatives of older generations. Screening of the film was accompanied by a book exhibition which presented books in Russian and Finnish. The film aroused a great interest, after the screening, many viewers stayed at the hall to communicate with the author Andrey Mazurovsky.
